Found July 06, 2012 on Win My Fantasy League:
The Rockies have been playing dismal of late and are now 20 games south of .500. Their struggling season can mostly be attributed to one of the worst starting pitching rotations the game has ever seen. However, their usually potent offense has been somewhat sputtering as well. One silver lining for the Rockies, not named Carlos Gonzalez, has been outfielder Tyler Colvin. Colvin has been one of the hottest players in baseball the past few weeks en route to a .301 AVG, 11 HR, and 37 RBI in just 172 ABs. Not bad for a guy who hasn’t even started most of the season. Colvin’s continued production has warranted a well-deserved starting spot in Colorado’s lineup. He should see plenty of opportunities going forward with Todd Helton struggling and batting behind Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer. The Colorado outfielder is owned in just 12.5 percent of ESPN fantasy baseball leagues and 12 percent of Yahoo! fantasy baseball leagues. Written by winmyfantasyleague.com contributor ...

Colorado Rockies reach halfway point right on pace for 100 losses

Guthrie looks sharp for dismal Rockies

The Rockies finished the first half with a 4-1 loss at St. Louis that left them with a 31-50 record and a chance to make wretched franchise history. The club record for losses in a season is 95 during their inaugural 1993season and again in 2005. The Rockies have lost 20 of their past 27 games, but in this latest defeat, the Rockies got a good effort from right-hander Jeremy Guthrie...

Rockies Notes: Pomeranz in the rotation

Drew Pomeranz is finally in the Colorado Rockies rotation and he's on the hill Friday night. No pitcher to start a game for Colorado this season has an adjusted-ERA (ERA+) better than 91 beside Pomeranz, who has a 127 ERA+ in six big league starts. The Rockies have needed him all along, but now it appears that he's ready.

Colvin has found his stroke with Rockies

The Rockies got their fifth and final hit Tuesday with two out in the fourth inning. Their first hit was their biggest, a three-run homer with two out in the third by Tyler Colvin. The home run, Colvin's 10th of the season and second in two games at St. Louis, wiped out the Cardinals' 2-0 lead, built by Matt Holliday's two-run homer in the first, and gave the Rockies...

Tyler Colvin Presents “House of Coors”

Picture above ground, there’s different levels of air.  In the first level of air, there’s number one outfielders.  Ryan Braun, he’s a number one.  He’s like a Macy’s Day Parade balloon, big and just off the ground.  Then in the next level of air, there’s number two outfielders.  We’re right above the world’s tallest buildings now.  There you find Nelson Cruz...

Rockies 5, Nationals 1

The artist formerly known as Mike Stanton is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Sunday, placing the slugging Miami Marlin on the sidelines for an expected four-to-six weeks. Originally named to the All-Star team, Stanton had posted a .284/.364/.554 line with 19 bombs and 50 RBI in 80 contests on the campaign. Owners who are scrambling to replace Stanton should look...

Weekly Pickups

Fiers, Michael RP MIL  a.<span style="font: 7pt "Times New Roman";">       Solid little pitcher that’s always had a great K/9 (~9-11). Walks have never been trouble for him, but he’s 27 coming into the year.  Bounced from closer to start in the minors, so that’s most likely the reason for his late arrival. I definitely think he’s worth a...
