When Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus had to leave Saturday night's game with the Minnesota Twins in the bottom of the first inning with what was later revealed to be tightness in his lower back, there was definitely some concern about what the long-term implications might me for the young infielder. However, Ranger manager Ron Washington quashed any such concerns after seeing his club deliver a 2-1 walk-off win over the Twins thanks to a game-winning single by Leonys Martin in the bottom of the ninth off Brian Duensing. Washington talked about how Andrus' injury is minor in nature but the veteran skipper did add that he will most likely keep Elvis out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale with Minnesota. "He's fine. Just had some spasms in his back but I probably won't play him tomorrow so he'll be ready to play once we get to Oakland," Washington said after his team's 20th win of August. Adam Rosales came in for Andrus in the home half of the first. Andrus had singled in his first plate appearance of the night but his back flared up after he went from first to third on a single by Ian Kinsler. Rosales did a nice job filling in for the young shortstop, going 1-for-3. Andrus' absence on Sunday likely means Washington goes with Jurickson Profar at short. Seven Roster Additions for Sunday's Game Prior to Washington's postgame news conference, a Rangers official announced seven players would be added to the roster for Sunday's series finale. Of course, Sunday is September 1, the first day where rosters can be expanded from their normal 25-man limit. Starting pitcher Nick Tepesch and first basemandesignated hitter Lance Berkman will be transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the active roster. Relievers Neftali Feliz and Michael Kirkman will be transferred from the 60-day disabled list while the Rangers will recall both reliever Cory Burns and catcher Robinson Chirinos from Triple-A Round Rock. The final move announced after Saturday's win was that the club will also purchase the contract of Jim Adduci, an outfielder from Round Rock whose father of the same name played for three different teams in the 1980s. Adduci could make his big-league debut at some point next week.
