Watch: Angels P Trevor Cahill's flip attempt is the least graceful moment of the season
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Not all pitchers are good defenders. Trevor Cahill found that out the hard way on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Angels right-hander tried to make a flashy, desperation flip to first baseman Jared Walsh on a weak ground ball on the infield against the Minnesota Twins. Instead, Cahill ended up losing both his glove and his footing, tumbling onto the infield dirt in a funny-looking play.

The good news? Cahill wasn’t hurt or anything like that. The bad news was he was very ineffective, giving up six runs in 4.1 innings.

This was a tough play that would have gone on the highlight reel had Cahill made it, so he doesn’t really deserve to be hammered for his inability to do so. It’s impossible to ignore how silly it ended up looking, though.
