While the Houston Astros are saddled with the worst record in major league baseball (5 games worse than next closest team), there are reasons to believe they are turning the corner. Not the least of which was the recent call up of 22-year-old IF Jonathan Villar, one of the prospects resulting from the multi-year sell-off of veterans (in this case Roy Oswalt).
Villar flashed some of his acute baseball sense (or rookie recklessness) in stealing home off of Baltimore Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen. Not on a throw anywhere else, not when he was in the windup. But cold as he sat in the stretch. Watch (via MLB.com):
Villar, along with 2012 All-Star Jose Altuve, could make up an exciting middle infield tandem to go with a number of other prospects that are slowly filtering up to AA and AAA after years of sell-offs (and high first round draft picks).
