Torii Hunter is a father first, ballplayer second

DETROIT All that Torii Hunter has accomplished on a baseball field pales to what he has done as a father. Thats because the odds were stacked so greatly against him ever being a good parent. Over- and Under-Achievers, Alleged

Chris Davis has been playing out of his mind. In a different sort of way, Ike Davis was playing out of his mind, too, before getting demoted. If you already knew those things, you might not need to read the rest of this post. But things do get a little more complex. We’re to the point, now, where a lot of players have amassed fairly significant sample sizes of regular-season data...

Orioles 2, Red Sox 0

Chris Tillman took a two-hitter into the seventh inning, Chris Davis hit his major league-leading 22nd home run and the Orioles blanked the Boston Red Sox 2-0 Friday...

The new AL East rivalry

Game 71: Sox can't play catchup, lose 6-3 Jon Lester continues to slip, his ERA continues to rise, and his team continues to lose when he pitches. You really can't say he pitched horribly, striking out 8 and walking none, but he only mustered five innings and gave up nine hits in over 100 pitches. Boston bats looked dead until the seventh inning, but by then, they were down...
