Oregon pitcher tosses his glove to first base for the out
University of Oregon pitcher Jeff Gold and former New York Yankee pitcher, Orlando Hernandez have something very unique in common. They both have made incredible plays involving their gloves being tossed to first base. El Duque, as Hernandez was called, famously threw his the entire glove over to first base for an out during a 1999 Subway Series game against the New York Mets.
Gold, in this case, actually had the ball dislodged from his glove in mid-air as the first basemen made an incredible play himself. Imagine two flying objects coming at you while having the batter speeding down the first base line?
