Found October 03, 2008 on The Tribe Daily:
It has been finished.. Michael Brantley will be the final piece to the Indians trade of CC Sabathia.

The specifics on Brantley... He's a speedy outfielder with a high on base percentage, but some feel that could be skewed by the fact that the minors will do that to players because of control.

Not buying it, he hits for a high average, that's very good. He also has a low strikeout total.

Brantley is 21 years old and some feel he could have been boosted to Triple-A last year. However as we know he was battling an ankle injury that wiped out most of his July and a move up was not in the cards. I'm not sure where we start him at this point. Especially with Trevor Crowe possibly in Triple-A.

Selected in the 7th Round of the 2005 draft out of High School. According to Shapiro this is the second biggest piece of the trade, so we are expecting Brantley to be a major league talent. Not on the level of LaPorta but a major league contributor.

Overall I'm pleased.. Brantley is a talented player, some more speed in our organization is good. He is in the same class as Trevor Crowe which gives us a little bit of wiggle room in terms of finding SOMEONE who can hit at the top of the order.. If one doesn't work then hey that's fine, we got one and that's important.

Bad news in the same deal however. Rob Bryson the young pitcher we received was mishandled by the Indians medical staff and will be OUT for 2009 before it even begins!

I mean wow..

That's just some tough luck but the Indians have no one to blame but themselves.. I guess they rushed him back and even he was surprised they were doing so. I was kinda skeptical as well, because when I first heard the injury and given he was a piece in the CC deal, you would think we would be extra cautious with him. Guess not.
