Tim Lincecum (SP,SF,55% owned): Another spot-start. Favorable matchup against, guess who? The Padres. The same team he no-hit two weeks ago. His follow up to the most recent no-hitter was much more impressive than the last. No one is expecting a return to his dominant form but the last few weeks have made it very clear that Lincecum still has relevant fantasy starts to offer. Marco Estrada (SP,MIL,51% owned): Gut feeling tells me that he will have a great two-start week against the Phillies and Cardinals. Ian Kennedy (SP,SD,39% owned): Does anyone listen to me? I thought I told you to pick this guy up weeks ago? Nevertheless, he has a two-start week ahead of him, match ups against the Rockies and Dodgers. Typically, I would stay away from a pitcher who is slated to face two of baseball’s best offensive teams, but not this time. Kennedy has only faced Colorado once this season, all the way back in April. He only gave up four hits that game, and he has gotten much better since April. I am a bit worried because he surrendered four runs to the Dodgers on June 20th, but his last outing was his best in a month so I think that confidence will carry over, especially if he pitches well against Colorado. Week 15 MLB Waiver Wire Hot Players: (*These are players who are performing very well as of late. You should keep an eye on them and if they continue their great play you should take a long look at adding one or two of them) Danny Salazar (SP,CLE,24% owned): When he is promoted back from the Minors – maybe that’s an if, though, he was activated from the AAA DL in mid-June, I have a strong feeling he is going to pitch surprisingly well. Now, granted, I am not a psychic and the early part of the season did not go well for Salazar. But, remember all the crap I got back from the whole “drop Gyorko” piece? I’ve made some bad calls, but I’ve made a lot more good calls. I’m telling you, Salazar will be much better once he is promoted again. Just watch his progress in Columbus and see if he gets the call. Right now, he is sporting a 4.75 AAA ERA on the season. Week 15 MLB Waiver Wire players to drop: Brett Lawrie (3B,TOR,70% owned): Yeah, I think I will pass on Lawrie. Oh, and while you’re at it, instead, give me Tommy La Stella, DJ LeMahieu, or Omar Infante. I’d prefer Infante but honestly, any of those guys will do the trick. Lawrie has just been a disaster this season. Oh, those guys are all owned in less than 50% of leagues? Great. Cutting ties with Lawrie, right now – there is no clear timetable in his return. Josh Harrison (OF,PIT,87% owned): Guy’s I’d rather have: Mookie Betts, Angel Pagan, Josh Willingham Mark Buehrle (SP,TOR,100% owned): Guy’s I’d rather have: Ian Kennedy, Zack Wheeler, Mike Leake Cold Players: (*These are players who have good track records but have not had the best start to the season. Let these guys chill on your bench until they heat up) Evan Gattis (C/OF,ATL,95% owned): And I’m not just saying this because he was placed on the 15-day DL. Keep an eye on the recovery timetable and how he plays in his return, over the second half of the season, there are interesting options. Owned in less than 50% of leagues, Derek Norris, Wilson Ramos, and Yan Gomes. Jason Kipnis (2B,CLE,100% owned): DO NOT DROP. I wouldn’t trade Kipnis for: Dee Gordon, Anthony Rendon, Dustin Pedroia. (*Sorry about last week guys. I had not realized De La Rosa was sent down to the Minors until it was too late. Also, I found out about the Grilli/Fieri trade at the very last minute. Oh, and one more thing, CC Sabathia is likely done for the season so drop him as needed.) Have specific questions about your team? Questions/Comments about the article? Ask @RyanDorf on Twitter.
