The Sox rolled through Baltimore with a sweep. Thanks to the Angels taking two of three from the Rangers the Sox magic number to clinch a playoff berth is now just seven. The division, while unlikely, is still in play as the Yankees dropped two of three to Seattle leaving the Sox just four out in the loss column with three games in the Bronx next weekend. Chances of a division title are pretty remote but they are there. With the wins the Sox are now 37-37 on the road for the season. Friday - Clay Buchholz pitched well again though with just one strikeout. In this five start stretch (4-0, 1.57) he really hasn’t piled up the strikeouts so there is a temptation to suggest he’s due for a little regression. I don’t want to discount the performances but it should be noted that Toronto once and Tampa and Baltimore both twice are not great offenses.
