With all the free agent hype around what Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder are going to do this year, right now would be a perfect time to go after 2 other players for Dave Dombrowski and the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers won the division in 2011 but still have many holes to fill for the 2012 season if they want to keep up the momentum. There are glaring holes in the infield with only Miguel Cabrera and Jhonny Peralta returning as starters. We have no “go to” pitcher besides Justin Verlander and no speed, lead off hitter of defensive OF besides Austin Jackson. While the Tigers already have $82M committed in salary, we have to either pack it up and start over… or go for it all and spend some money. I believe that going after IF Jose Reyes and SP Roy Oswalt would fill enough holes to justify spending the money and going for it all. The only question is…will Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski do it? Here are my reasons why we should for both players. J.Reyes: 2011 Stats ...

Why Albert Pujols Will Stay In St. Louis

Image taken from Google Images We heard it a lot.  At the end of September and during every playoff series, we heard “this could be the last time Albert Pujols has an at-bat in a Cardinal uniform,” sometimes tweaked with the last home appearance.  So much so that someone made a chart out of how he did in those situations.  (Spoiler, not all that well.) The most puzzling excuse of all for why the Mariners should balk on signing Prince Fielder

We're all waiting to see what the Mariners plan to do with their off-season plan and many opionions, both pro and con, have been put forth about free agent Prince Fielder and whether the team should take a run at him. Stars on Marlins radar

According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, the Marlins have contacted Pujols, Fielder and Reyes to possibly join the...

Pujols/Fielder or Hamilton: Rangers Have Decision to Make

Ever wonder how the Texas Rangers feel about going into the 2012 season with Mitch Moreland as their everyday first baseman? Even though news came out last week that Moreland was battling a wrist injury throughout the second half of the season, it still doesn't inspire a big "wow factor" when you have Moreland at one of the biggest offensive production positions on...

Offseason Outlook: Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers could compensate for the probable loss of Prince Fielder by acquiring corner infielders, a shortstop, and a few late-inning relievers, but payroll flexibility may be limited. Guaranteed Contracts Zack Greinke, SP: $13.5MM through 2012 Randy Wolf, SP: $11MM through 2012 Corey Hart, RF: $19MM through 2013 Rickie Weeks, 2B: $31MM through 2014, plus 2015...
