So Livan Hernandez received word from Davey Johnson on Friday that his last start of the season (career?) will be Sunday; they're shutting down the big guy. According to MLB.com's Bill Ladson, Livo "took the news well" and will stay on with the Nats through the end of the season as a mentor, coach, and pinch hitter. And when he retires?
Once his playing career is over, Hernandez is not sure what he wants to do. He would like to work for the Nationals and become a coach, and he's also thinking about becoming an agent or a professional golfer. (via MLB.com, 9/3/2011)
