It's been a tough stretch for Baltimore Orioles fans over the past decade. No matter where you reside - whether it's in Maryland, Florida, California or any part of the world - it's been startling to see what has happened to the Orioles.Sadly, they have not had a winning season since Bill Clinton was president of the United States of America.Yet, despite it all, I and most of my friends who rooted for the Orioles growing up still do so today. It's obvious that the Birds have lost more than they have won over the past decade and longer. There have been some crazy moments such as the 30-3 loss to Texas in 2007 (which I saw in person); however, there have been some bright ones as well, such as the nine-run comeback against the Red Sox in 2009.More times than I'll admit, I've buried my head in my palms, muttered out a few curse words and shaken my head wondering what I have just saw after a painful Orioles loss. Then again, when something amazing has happened or wh...

Manny Ramirez to Baltimore? Edwin Jackson and Other Stuff...
Why do I see Manny Ramirez with the Orioles? They seem to have an affinity for signing past-their-prime, over the hill guys. Last year, it was Vladimir Guerrero, who could still hit (albeit, without power) and didn't do much else.>>> Read More
2012 Fantasy Baseball: Zach Britton & The Baltimore Orioles Starting Rotation Preview
Zach Britton (credits below) Nothing seems to change in O-Town each year we discuss the starting pitching rotation. Good young talent filled with question marks and mediocrity is the norm in Baltimore. This year Jeremy Guthrie will lead the pack as the team's ace but how things shape up behind him still remains to be seen. I honestly can not find a pitcher in this rotation worth...
Teams Should Watch the Orioles Roster (Another Option in the Mets Bench Search)
There was a post on MLB Trade Rumors this week that explains how interesting of a position the Orioles are in. The article just lists 11 players on the Mets 40 man roster, who are now out of Options, yet are all pretty much competing for spots on the 25 man roster. The players below have a lot of qualities in common, like they were touted prospects who didn’t pan out. A few...
Duquette's risky plan
Dan Duquette has a plan. It is not the plan that many wanted. Prince Fielder is not part of that plan, neither is trading Adam Jones or Jeremy Guthrie. No, but Duquette has a plan. And it is very risky. Looking at the moves Duquette has made this offseason I think it is pretty clear, he still believes in the talent that is on this roster. I made this comment at fanfest: "...
Orioles notes: arbitration hearings, Jackson, free agency, Robinson
Barring a last minute change, the Orioles are expected to go to arbitration hearings with starter Jeremy Guthrie and swingman Brad Bergesen -- which would be the first time the club has met with the three-person, independent panel since before the 2006 season.

Oh well. Edwin Jackson will be pitching down the parkway for the Washington Nationals. It's a huge day for a team on the rise; meanwhile, for the Orioles, they seem to be stuck in neutral.>>> Read More
VandenHurk released, Correnti hired, Cummings promoted
Right-handed pitcher Rick VandenHurk, who was designated for assignment last week when the Orioles signed infielder Wilson Betemit, cleared waivers and was released Friday. He becomes a free agent and can sign with another team.
Some Orioles notes on Manny, roster additions, Larish, Guthrie
The Orioles maintain some interest in slugger Manny Ramirez and have had internal conversations, but there are plenty of issues that would have to be rectified before the club would make a decision on whether to even offer him a contract.
