When will Joe Girardi and the New York Yankees, seven games behind Boston for the wild card with 24 to play, quit pretending and acknowledge they are out of the race? If Girardi honestly believes the Yankees are still in contention, he is delusional. It's September. They are playing out the string. It's time for youth to be served. It is completely pointless for the Yankees to continue starting Ponson and Darrell Rasner.
