Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking. The Padres started their final series in Los Angeles of 2013 with a disappointing — but not surprising — 9-2 loss to the Dodgers last night. Eric Stults pitched okay, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits with no walks & 3 K’s in 5.1 innings. Anthony Bass came out of the bullpen and proceeded to do a pretty good reenactment of Edinson Volquez‘ final Padres start, giving up 5 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. Speaking of Volquez, he came out of the Dodgers’ bullpen to pitch the 8th, giving up one hit, a Jedd Gyorko double, then retiring the side without giving up a run.
