After taking two of three games from the West Division leading Rangers, the White Sox find themselves at the .500 mark, but trail Detroit by five games. The Sox must make up ground by winning two games against the 2nd place Angels and then winning the three game series against the West bottom dwellers and against the Twins (at home) to round out the month of August. And, they have the guns to do it, if the guns aren’t caught napping and recovering from injuries.
Brent Lillibridge is ending the month with his 11thhomer of the season, and dramatically has improved over the last couple of years with additional playing time, with six RBIs over the past week. However, does anyone shudder with Adam Dunn playing first base? At times he appears to be unable to stay on base. Regardless, his base talent isn’t translating into hits (although some would argue that seven hits over the last ten games is a huge improvement).
