White Sox Catcher Korey Lee Hits First MLB Home Run
Rich Storry-USA TODAY Sports

Save that baseball! Chicago White Sox catcher Korey Lee hit his first MLB home run in Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals.

The recently recalled backstop made it count as his 415-foot blast to left field was a three-run shot to give the White Sox a 5-0 lead in the second inning.

Entering play Tuesday, Lee was struggling at the plate. The 25-year-old had just one hit — an infield single — in 28 plate appearances since joining the White Sox.

Acquired in a trade that sent Kendall Graveman to the Houston Astros, Lee figures to be a mainstay of the White Sox catching mix moving forward. The California native has seen a bulk of the action behind the plate since getting the call to the MLB club on Aug. 24.

And with the Sox designating Seby Zavala for assignment on Monday, Lee will likely continue as the primary option behind the dish through the end of the season.
