The White Sox completed the three-game weekend sweep of Seattle in the 4-3 comeback win in a rain-shortened game, but not without some lingering questions about the starting staff as they move forward. Sunday starter Gavin Floyd had to leave the game after two innings because of discomfort in his right elbow, after Floyd allowed one run on three hits, fanning one and walking one. It wasn't the first time the elbow has been an issue for Floyd, either; he was on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis back in July. He was replaced by Hector Santiago, who was stretched out during his stint in the minor leagues in July, and Floyd was expected to be re-evaluated on Monday. There are options if Floyd has to miss some time, with Santiago and Philip Humber both options out of the bullpen. Beyond the Floyd injury, the Sox are seeing the finish line for the Central Division title, but are hoping they have the starting pitchers to get there. Jose Quintana and Chris Sale are fi...

Report: Gavin Floyd to Miss Next Start

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher, Gavin Floyd, had to check out of Sunday’s meeting against the Seattle Mariners after just two innings of work.  Floyd gave up three hits and one earned run in his short stint on the mound. The right-hander left early because of  nagging pain in his pitching elbow; the same elbow that landed him on the 15 day DL due to tendinitis he experienced...

White Sox Pierzynski, Ventura ejected

White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski and manager Robin Ventura have been ejected from Chicago's game against the Seattle Mariners. Pierzynski was thrown out for apparently arguing balls and strikes with one out in the top of the third inning Saturday night. When Ventura charged out of the dugout to protest, he also was ejected and had to be separated from plate umpire Lance Barrett...

I bet AJ Pierzynski stepped on a duck

The Chicago White Sox are having a season that not many expected under first-year manager, Robin Ventura. They are 2 games up on the Tigers in the AL Central. They are an extremely tight group that likes to have fun. Recently, the Ventura made the decision to bust out in their very best (or maybe [...]

Is Hawk Harrelson On A Short Leash...???

Back at the end of May, White Sox play-by-play guy Ken "Hawk" Harrelson decided to give the umps what-fer because of what he thought was a lack of a strike zone- since manager Robin Ventura had been ejected for arguing balls and strikes. He was called to the carpet of the Commish and said his days of kvetching were over... Well, not so much... Ventura and catcher...

White Sox 5, Mariners 4

Tyler Flowers hit a tying homer and Dewayne Wise delivered a go-ahead RBI single in Chicago's two-run sixth inning, lifting the White Sox to a 5-4 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night for their fifth straight win. Seattle took a quick first-inning lead on Kyle Seager's three-run homer before the White Sox rallied to preserve their 2 1/2-game lead over second...

White Sox 4, Mariners 3(7)

Tyler Flowers hit a go-ahead homer just before the final downpour and the Chicago White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in a rain-shortened game Sunday for their sixth straight victory. Immediately following a 6-minute rain delay in the seventh inning, Flowers launched a two-run shot off Kevin Millwood to lead first-place Chicago to its second consecutive series sweep. Rain continued...

Best hoopster baseball jersey – Michael Jordan #45 White Sox

There is no shortage of Michael Jordan jerseys in Chicago. The way to stand out from the crowd is to go against the grain and rock his #45 Chicago White Sox jersey. This is my number one MJ jersey that you could buy and is an absolute gem. Here’s some things about Jordan’s time with the White Sox that you may not know or remember: Jerry Reinsdorf continued to honor Jordan’s...

White Sox put Floyd on disabled list

Chicago White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday because of a strained right elbow flexor. The move is retroactive to Monday. Floyd, a right-hander, left Sunday's game against the Mariners because of pain in his right elbow. He is 9-9 with a 4.55 ERA this season. He was sidelined from July 8 to July 23 with right elbow tendinitis...

White Sox wear ridiculous pants

Like John Daly -- Except not as fat and drunk

Video: Hawk Harrelson goes on another anti-umpiring rant

During Saturday's Mariners-White Sox game, Chicago announcer Hawk Harrelson was at it again. After White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana had a borderline pitch called a ball, White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski and manager Robin Ventura got ejected....and Harrelson went into a tirade. "This is absolutely ridiculous." "Barrett, Lance Barrett, has been absolutely...

Winning Teams, Gleaming Ballparks, and Attendance

Last week, a sport columnist on the local CBS affiliate in Chicago rained down the invective on White Sox fans for failing pack U.S. Cellular Field to capacity for the three-game series with the Yankees. The White Sox lead the AL Central. The Yankees lead the AL East. It was a premiere match-up of two teams expected to play in October. Fewer than 28,000 fans attended the first two...

Sale gets hit hard on same day Floyd goes on DL

The last thing the White Sox needed was more problems in the rotation, but once lefty ace Chris Sale was pulled Tuesday after a season-low four innings in Chicago's eventual 6-0 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, the writing was on the wall that the first-place team in the AL Central has starting-pitching trouble. Sale's night started out well enough with four strikeouts of...
