Chicago White Sox Rule:
Have you heard that the L.A. Dodgers are thinking of moving their spring training facilities to Glendale, Arizona, from the place in Florida where they set up spring camp back when the team was still based in Brooklyn? It would ruffle some feathers and cost a few bucks, but it makes sense, since they are clearly entrenched in the West. But for some reason, Glendale is also starting up talks with the Chicago White Sox to see if we will do the same thing. Only the Sox are already in Arizona, so the hassle and expense would basically move the team’s spring training from Tucson to Phoenix. The current training stadium is shared with the Arizona Diamondbacks, but I doubt the folks in Glendale are offering the Sox a private one if they’re inviting the Dodgers to be in town at the same time. So the White Sox are considering breaking a contract that is supposed to run through 2013 because…you tell me. I think I only know about half this story so far.
