The Chicago White Sox have optioned outfielder Oscar Colas to Triple-A Charlotte. Just a day after being called up to the show Colas now finds himself headed right back to where he started the 2024 season.

Colas's brief stint with the big league team lasted just one game, and his action was limited. The 25-year-old right fielder only appeared for a pinch-hit appearance for catcher Korey Lee in the White Sox extra-innings loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday night

The move could potentially signify that DH Eloy Jimenez could be returning to the White Sox already injury-plagued lineup when the team returns back to Chicago this weekend.

Jimenez was placed on the 10-day IL on April 5 with an injured left adductor muscle, however, the move was retroactive to April 2. With Jimenez eligible to return from the IL on Friday and no corresponding move made alongside Colas's option, this at least appears to be on the table.
