Pro Sports Daily:
Chicago White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday because tendinitis and pain in his flexor muscle in his right elbow. It could have been worse, but an MRI found no structural damage. The White Sox activated right-hander Philip Humber, who had been on the disabled list with an elbow strain but is scheduled to start Tuesday night against the Red Sox. The pain in Floyd's elbow increased during his last start on July 7, when he pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings. He felt pain again while playing catch during the All-Star break. Floyd is 7-8 with a 4.54 earned-run average.

NICE GESTURE, BRO
To lighten the mood after Ozzie Guillen called Bryce Harper "unprofessional," the Nationals sent the Marlins skipper a bat autographed by Harper.
It was not the most memorable game for team captain Paul Konerko on Wednesday, as the Chicago White Sox were manhandled by the Boston Red Sox 10-1 at Fenway Park in what was Konerko's 2,000th game in the black and white of the South Side. Konerko did go 1-for-1 with an RBI single and two walks, but considering his team managed only four hits on the night, it was an uphill battle...
Bryce Harper has taken the Major League by storm and has created a storm of his own with Miami Marlin manager Ozzie Guillen. Three years ago, Harper became the youngest baseball player to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and he is living up to his hype. The fearless 19-year old is batting third best on his team, taking on clown-reporters (which you may have heard your boyfriend...
Because I’m a bitter Mets fan, the first entry in the Mets Baseball Card of the Day will be a Lastings Milledge Rookie Card:
Milledge in my mind will always be the perfect example of the Mets prospect hype machine.
Anyway the card design comes from one of my favorite sets, Topps Turkey Red. The cards have a painted feel to them, with a rough surface, which is why the light is...
Given Bryce Harper's professionalism in dealing with the Cole Hamels situation soon after he came into the big leagues, it shouldn't have been overly surprising to learn that the rookie outfielder had sent Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen an autographed bat in an attempt to smooth things over after their recent run-in. There was one problem, however -- the Harper-autographed...
BOSTON -- The "Yooook" you heard Tuesday night at Fenway Park was for returning hero Kevin Youkilis. The "boooo" you heard was for Red Sox lefty Jon Lester. Youkilis, again treated royally by the Boston fans he left when he was traded to Chicago last month, hammered a three-run homer off old pal Lester in the fourth inning, leading the White Sox to a 7-5 win...
Starting tonight the Red Sox will host the Chicago White Sox for a four game set at Fenway Park. This marks the first series against Chicago since the trade that sent longtime Red Sox third basemen Kevin Youkilis to the White Sox. The Red Sox have publicized the event, in the hopes of giving Fenway [...]
For the first time since he was traded to the Chicago White Sox on June 24th, former Boston Red Sox fan favorite Kevin Youkilis made his return to Fenway Park on Monday night. Of course he got a single in his first at-bat after a rousing ovation from the Fenway Faithful.
