The Chicago White Sox placed pitcher Philip Humber on the 15-day disabled list with a facial contusion.
Humber was hurt in a scary incident in Thursday's game when he was struck above his right eye by a line drive off the bat of Cleveland's Kosuke Fukudome.
The 28-year-old righthander was able to get to his feet and walk off the field after the mishap. Humber is 8-8 with a 3.63 in 23 appearances (21 starts) this season.
The White Sox recalled reliever Josh McKinney from Triple-A Charlotte to take Humber's spot on the roster.
Kinney was 6-3 with a 2.77 ERA and 14 saves in 49 appearances at Triple-A.
