Monday's series opener between the Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals has been postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader beginning Tuesday at 3:40 PM CT. The second game will begin approximately 30-45 minutes after the first contest ends.

For those planning to attend the doubleheader, the White Sox will honor tickets, parking passes, and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes for the originally scheduled Tuesday game (May 14, 6:40 PM CT). Parking lots and stadium gates will open at 2:40 PM CT.

Those with tickets for Monday's game (May 13) will receive credits or a refund. Season ticket holders, individual suite holders, and patio ticket holders will receive a credit to their account. Refunds for all other purchases, i.e. Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and Stubhub, should be initiated at the point of purchase.

This postponement may benefit the White Sox, whose last off day was on May 2. The Sox took three of four games from the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend but used several high-leverage relievers multiple times throughout the series. Monday's impromptu off day should bolster the bullpen's availability for the series against Washington.

Both games of Tuesday's doubleheader will air on NBC Sports Chicago. Chris Flexen will start the opener and Erick Fedde will take the ball in the nightcap.
