Bleacher Report:
The Chicago White Sox have reportedly agreed to trade away two familiar faces. Heading to the Dodgers is Jim Thome, while Jose Contreras is heading out west as well to the Rockies.
Thome and Contreras are clearly on the downsides of their careers, but both have been major contributors in Chicago for the better part of the last decade. The Tigers haven’t had much trouble with Contreras the past couple years but Thome has murdered them for nearly 20 years. It’s nice to see him heading to the National League.
It has be reported that the White Sox are also offering up Jermaine Dye, but he has not yet been dealt.
That leaves the Tigers and Twins as the two teams battling it out in the AL Central. The White Sox have struggled mightily the past three weeks and have just not been able to gain ground on the stagnant Tigers.
