The Chicago White Sox have watched the decision to turn LHP Chris Sale from a reliever to a starter go from an experiment to an All-Star selection, as the 23-year-old was named to his first All-Star team before the Sox lost to the New York Yankees 4-2 on Sunday. Sale won't be alone, with the first-place South Siders also sending sluggers Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn in representing the American League in the Midsummer Classic July 10 at Kansas City. Sox RHP Jake Peavy will have a chance to join them, as he was announced as one of five players on the final vote ballot. It was Sale that was getting all the handshakes and hugs from teammates and coaches on Sunday, however, as his 9-2 record and AL-leading 2.27 ERA were a big reason the Sox have been one of the surprise teams in the AL this season. "It's awesome," Sale insisted. "It's something I've honestly thought about for a long time since I was a kid, playing baseball, being a fan of baseball. I w...

Chicago White Sox: Trade Rumors

As this season approaches the All-Star break, fans of the Chicago White Sox are wondering if Kenny Williams has any more tricks up his sleeve. The GM has already made an impressive move when he acquired Kevin Youkilis from the Red Sox for Brent Lillibridge and Zach Stewart. The move put Youkilis at third base, a position the Sox have had trouble with so far this year. It also opened...

The White Sox will (should?) win the AL Central

Yes, that heading hedges the bet a little. But the White Sox are the best team in the American League Central Division. The team's current lead in the division shrunk to one and a half games after a Sunday loss to the New York Yankees. And the Tigers, last year's division winner are only three back despite a poor start to the season. The Indians are the second place team...

Peavy Donates $100 for Each MLB K

Helping in the fight against pancreatic cancer Jake Peavy, of the Chicago White Sox, took a loss on the mound today against the New York Yankees, but today is a win for everybody in Major League Baseball and others around the world. Tweets from Jake Peavy and Daryl Van Schouwen, White Sox beat writer for the Chicago Sun-Times, confirm that Peavy is donating $100 for each strikeout...

White Sox Don’t Need Youk Either

The Chicago White Sox started a three game series with the Yankees last night and came up with a huge win. Jose Quintana pitched 6.0 innings, gave up 8 hits, 6 ER, 5 Ks, and got the win. As far as starts at Yankee Stadium go, this one could have been a lot worse. If you had the cajones to start him at least you got a win and 5 Ks. I still like Quintana a lot, but I’d steer clear...

It’s sad that a classy man like Joe Torre defends a cheating juicehead like Roger Clemens

While watching the Bombers defeat the Chicago White Sox 4-2 earlier this afternoon on Old-Timers’ Day at the new Yankee Stadium, two-time American League Manager of the Year Joe Torre said he thinks notorious flamethrower Roger Clemens deserves enshrinement into … Continue reading →
