Ex-MLB star Lenny Dykstra has been in the news in recent years for all the wrong reasons but had quite the wild tale to share over the weekend.
It all started when he took his $80,000 dentures (made out of bone marrow) out to eat a sub sandwich in New Jersey Saturday night. That proved to be a move he regretted, as his dentures were taken away by staff and deposited in a dumpster.
A man of action, Dykstra not only went dumpster diving to find his precious cargo, but he chronicled his adventure on Twitter.

He was still searching in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Nails Update: This has now escalated to “Operation Search Missing Teeth" while @JerseyMikes – they make @Subway look like red-headed stepchildren – Nails will be back at you just after break of dawn – something I know all too well, to report on my missing teeth. #LouGeorge pic.twitter.com/zGlqWV0mtM

Finally, after nine hours of searching, Dykstra and his buddy “Big John” found his missing dentures.
“I was there for nine hours. I thought the cops were going to arrest me for trespassing,” Dykstra said, per NJ.com. “I wasn’t leaving my teeth there in the dumpster. No way was I leaving them.”
