In Winter League action last night in the Dominican League, Alen Hanson got his first start of the off-season and played his first game since November 2nd. Hanson went 0-for-3, with a walk and a run scored. He has yet to pick up a hit in five AB’s.
In that same game, Starling Marte went 2-for-4, with two singles, two runs scored, a walk and three stolen bases. He now has a .333/.415/.509 line in 15 games, with six steals in six attempts.
Recently signed Felix Pie went 1-for-5, with two walks and two strikeouts in his team’s 4-3 win in 16 innings. Pie stole his sixth base and scored a run. He has played 27 games this off-season, batting .250 with two homers and 16 walks.
Another new signing announced today, Alex Valdez went 0-for-1 yesterday. He is hitting .287 in 25 games with eight doubles and three homers.
Anderson Hernandez went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. He was moved down to seventh in the batting order, due in part to the addition of Hanley Ramirez to the Tigres del Licey lineup.
In Puerto Rico, Benji Gonzalez went 1-for-2, with a single and a walk. He is now 3-for-8 in five games, with two walks.
In Venezuela, Ramon Cabrera went 0-for-2, with two walks and two RBI’s. In 13 games he is hitting .107 with six RBI’s. Cabrera was just added to the 40 man roster.
