In Winter League action from last night, Starling Marte went 1-for-4, with his fourth triple of the DWL season. He also reached on an error in the second, but was thrown out stealing for his first caught stealing in nine attempts. Marte has tripled in three of the last six games. Anderson Hernandez went 1-for-3, with a walk and his first home run of the DWL season. He now has a .737 OPS through 39 games. Felix Pie went 0-for-4, with an RBI and a strikeout. He has a .242/.362/.339 line through 35 games. Alex Valdez went 2-for-4, with two singles and two RBI’s. He now has a .311 average and 18 RBI’s in 30 games. Kris Johnson, making his second appearance of the DWL season, threw three hitless innings of relief. He walked one and struck out two batters. Johnson allowed the tying run to score in the sixth inning after coming on with men on first and second and no outs. He gave up two sacrifice hits to the first two batters he faced, Felix Pie and Alex Valdez. In Mexico, Ali Solis went 1-for-5, with an RBI double. He has a .183/.247/.220 line through 25 games. In Venezuela, Ramon Cabrera pinch-hit in the seventh inning and grounded out in his only plate appearance. Nate Baker made his second appearance of the VWL season. He threw 1.1 IP, allowing a solo homer, one walk and he recorded one strikeout.
