Of all the worries the Chicago Cubs have about their young players going into next year, first baseman Anthony Rizzo is not one of them.

Rizzo continued to show that he's the real deal in Sunday's 13-9 comeback win over the Pirates at Wrigley Field.

He enjoyed his first two-homer game, including his first grand slam. He also drove in a career-high six runs, becoming the first Cub to have a six-RBI game since Aramis Ramirez in 2010.

In 72 games since coming up from Class AAA (Des Moines) Iowa on June 26, Rizzo has batted .300 with 14 homers and 43 RBI. At Iowa, he had 23 homers and 62 RBI.

Manager Dale Sveum was only too happy to extrapolate.

"The combination of Triple-A and here, too, is pretty impressive," Sveum said. "You're talking mid-20s (in homers) and 90 to 100 RBI. He went into that little lull and he figured some other things out, but I think he realized he wasn't going to be (fleet outfielder Tony) Campana. He was going to be Anthony Rizzo.

"Everything he's done here has been, obviously, what we expected. We don't expect any more or less. He's been spectacular since he's been here."

Rizzo said he understands that there are going to be ups and downs in a long season. He also said he wasn't sure if Sunday's game was his most electrifying performance.

"I don't think it tops the walk-off, but it was a great game, well fought by all of us, all 25 or all 40 of us, however many there are here," said Rizzo, referring to his walk-off homer against the Cardinals on July 29. "It was a good game, and we kept fighting the last couple days, showing some resilience."
