World Series picks: Let's cash this +790 Game 1 SGP for Rangers vs. D-backs

The World Series gets underway Friday night with Game 1 between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Nathan Eovaldi will get the start for Texas, while Arizona will counter with Zac Gallen.

It may not be the World Series matchup we all anticipated, but there are still ways to inject some juice into this championship battle. Let's start with a juicy Same Game Parlay for Game 1 and build up a hefty bankroll for the football weekend.

World Series Game 1 Same Game Parlay

Leg 1: Corey Seager to record a hit

This is an easy one to kick things off. Seager leads the Rangers with a .342 batting average in the playoffs, and he's batting .333 in 21 career at-bats against Gallen. One hit shouldn't be a problem in a friendly, lefty-righty matchup.

Leg 2: Ketel Marte to record a hit

Here's another hit prop we can't ignore. Marte has played in 16 career playoff games. He's recorded at least one hit in all 16, and he's batting .358 this postseason. As a switch hitter, Marte has the advantage every time he steps to the dish.

Leg 3: Nathan Eovaldi to record 4+ strikeouts

Playoff Eovaldi is back and better than ever. The right-hander is 4-0 in four starts this postseason, and he's averaging 7.0 strikeouts per game. The Diamondbacks had some issues in the strikeout department against the Philadelphia Phillies, and that should continue against Eovaldi.

Leg 4: Corbin Carroll to record a stolen base

Here's where we go out on a limb. Carroll struggled at the plate for most of the NLCS, but when he cracked three singles in Game 7, he also stole two bases. If the rookie can make his way to first base in Game 1, he'll be aggressive on the base paths to generate runs.

Throw those four legs together, and we get a +790 SGP on FanDuel for Game 1 of the World Series. Let's cash!

In the news ...

Damian Lillard shines in Bucks debut — Check your clocks, Milwaukee Bucks fans. It's officially Dame Time. Lillard wasted no time endearing himself to the city of Milwaukee with a game-high 39 points, eight rebounds and four assists in his debut against the Philadelphia 76ers. The seven-time All-Star was able to create his own shot down the stretch, which is something the Bucks have struggled with for years running the offense through Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee is +400 to win the NBA title this year.

Ottawa Senators center Shane Pinto suspended for sports gambling — We obviously have no problem with sports gambling around here. We encourage it (responsibly, of course). But the NHL doesn't think the same way when it comes to its players. On Wednesday, the NHL suspended Pinto for 41 games for activities relating to sports wagering. Since we're legally allowed to bet on sports, the Senators are +1700 to win the Atlantic Division.

Bills handle Buccaneers on "TNF" but fail to cover again — The Buffalo Bills entered "Thursday Night Football" in desperate need of a win coming off two losses in their last three weeks, and that's what they got with a 24-18 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Buffalo failed to cover the 10-point spread, though, making it four straight losing weeks against the spread. The Bills are +180 to win the AFC East.
