Following the 9-6 lost to the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox made a number of roster moves. The most notable of the moves was the team calling up shortstop prospect Xander Bogaerts on the team's six game West Coast road trip. In order to make room for Bogaerts, The Red Sox optioned utility infielder Brock Holt to Triple-A Pawtucket. Bogaerts is hitting .284 with a .369 OBP, .453 slugging percentage and nine homers in 60 games with Triple-A Pawtucket. While Bogaerts played mostly shortstop, he has seen time at first base in Triple-A. The Red Sox also optioned catcher Ryan Lavarnway (who's hit .283 with a .323 OBP and .383 in 19 game) back to Triple-A Pawtucket in so the team could to clear a roster spot for catcher David Ross. In addition to the other movews, the Red Sox also optioned right-hander Rubby De La Rosa back to Triple-A Pawtucket
