Congratulations to the New York Yankees for making it out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004.
Ending a five-year drought has to be all the sweeter for the Yankee players, organization and loyal fans since it took the Yankees only just over a billion dollars in Opening Day salaries the past five years to accomplish this awesome accomplishment. An accomplishment so awesome that it has only been equaled by 14 of the other 29 Major League teams during the same span. (So to be exact it’s $1,003,138,707 in salary, but what’s an extra three million and change among friends.)
The point is that now Yankee fans can understand how Boston fans felt in 2004.
