With their 17th round pick in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player draft, the Yankees selected Tim Flight, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound left handed pitcher out of Southern New Hampshire University.

The 21-year-old Flight was named NCBWA and ABCA Division II Pitcher of the Year and he is a finalist for the Tino Martinez award, given to the best Division II player in the country. He earned those honors behind a 9-1 record, 1.31 ERA, 140 strikeouts, and 39 walks in 102.2 innings.

He has a fastball that sits at 86-88 mph which touches 91 mph on occasions. He also has a curveball which is described to have good depth and a changeup that still needs work.
