Will the Yankees bring the 2012 ALCS back to Yankee Stadium?Once again the New York Yankees couldn’t muster up enough at the plate to score two runs, which handed them their third lose at the hands of the Detroit Tigers, 2-1.It was a game the Yankees could have easily won, as once again pitchers were phenomenal for New York and if the bats could do a smidgen of what they are capable of, they would be cruising towards #28.Here are four things that were gifted to the Yankees in ALCS Game 3 that they did not capitalize on, or use:1) Justin Verlander stunk. He had 3K’s and for Verlander that is an off night, and Yankees hit pop ups all game.1a.) Verlander should buy the home plate umpire a watch, or some new glasses because his strike zone was extra W-I-D-E.2) Skipper Joe Girardi’s line-up was not what I would have used. First off, I would have put Ichiro as leadoff, not Gardner as he should have batted ninth. And I would have started A-rod over Ibanez at DH; all he had to do was check ...

Torrie Wilson brushes aside A-Rod report

Alex Rodriguez’s girlfriend seems unfazed by a gossip report that suggested the Yankees player was trying to cheat on her. Torrie Wilson, who has been dating A-Rod since at least last December, wrote the following message on Twitter during Game 3 of the ALCS:Gotta love the gossip mills. It’s amazing how ppl get their kicks, huh?— Torrie Wilson (@Torrie11) October 17, 2012Wilson’s...

Comparing Justin Verlander to Bob Gibson and Don Drysdale

Putting current pitchers in a historical perspective is a slippery business. The game is not the same from decade to decade. We have tools like FIP and ERA+ to compare current pitchers to pitchers of the past and WAR comparisons from then and now. But it really doesn't do the current pitcher any justice to try to place them in a historical context. This point was considered this...

Verlander rubs Tigers trainer’s head for luck after being pulled in the 9th (vid)

Following a relatively dominating performance on Tuesday night that saw the Detroit Tigers ace uncharacteristically without his best stuff — not that it mattered (8.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER) — Justin Verlander found himself seated in the dugout during a tense bottom of the 9th inning after doing all he could do on the mound to put [...]

Verlander, Tigers take 3-0 lead over Yankees

DETROIT (AP) -- Justin Verlander took a shutout into the ninth inning and the Detroit Tigers held on to beat the New York Yankees 2-1 Tuesday night for a 3-0 lead in the AL championship series. Phil Coke gave up consecutive singles with two outs in the ninth before striking out postseason star Raul Ibanez for his second save in two games. Verlander allowed only a pair of singles...

Alex Rodriguez: Like A Boss

As a Red Sox fan, I love anything that has to do with the portrayal of the New York Yankees in a negative light. I am reveling in the fact that they are currently down three games to none to the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS and are just one game away from being swept [...]

A-Rod's Game 2 ballgirl is an Australian bikini model

Alex Rodriguez may not be able to see a 95 mph fastball down the middle anymore, but he still knows how to spot a hot number in the stands.During the ninth inning of Game 2 of ALCS on Sunday, A-Rod was reportedly seen openly flirting with a couple of pretty ladies behind the New York Yankees dugout while the team was in the middle of a frantic comeback during a crucial game against...

The Alex Rodriguez conspiracy

With the Yankees on the verge of postseason elimination, third baseman Alex Rodriguez has become the center of controversy. Manager Joe Girardi decided to bench Rodriguez for game 3 of the ALCS, igniting rumors that he was done in New York, and even rumors that the Yankees were shopping him already.I know Alex Rodriguez's postseason isn't exactly going to script, but isn...

The Yankees kept their lineup the same as it would have been Wednesday - with Rodriguez on the bench for the third time in nine postseason games. A-Rod is 3 for 23 in these playoffs. Tigers' rotation has gotten hot at right time

The Detroit Tigers have built a team for the postseason based on the belief that power arms are the foundation for success. So far, so good. The Tigers grabbed a 3-0 lead on the New York Yankees on Tuesday night behind another standout start from ace Justin Verlander and will try to close out the American League Championship Series on Wednesday night behind another power pitcher...

10-16 Darryl Hamilton

NBC Sports Baseball Analyst Darryl Hamilton joins Fox Sports Tonight to talk about the Tigers dominance in the ALCS and Alex Rodriguez's attitude.

Postponement favors Tigers in ALCS

The Detroit Tigers didn't win the American League pennant Wednesday night. But strategically speaking, they won the rainout. When Major League Baseball postponed Game 4 until Thursday, the Tigers benefited in two ways: CC Sabathia will no longer be available to pitch a potential Game 7 for the New York Yankees, and Detroit reliever Phil Coke -- who temporarily ascended to the...

Donald Trump blames Jeter’s injury and A-Rod struggling on not living in his apartments

Donald Trump ripped Alex Rodriguez again! Donald Trump has never been shy to voice his opinion. But one would think Trump is just being facetious with his tweets about Derek Jeter’s broken ankle injury. Alex Rodriguez may be a different story though as Trump is pretty blunt on Alex’s struggles. Trump says Alex was only good because the drugs made him great. A-Rod is just not...
