Lady Loves Pinstripes:
It is no secret that the New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano is a free agent at the end of this season.
Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter – 8/9/10 – Yankee Stadium.
It is assumed that Cano will be the future face of the franchise since Derek Jeter is about to turn 39 years old in a few weeks and a season or two from retiring.
If you are a big star in you’re prime with pending free agency looming and you want the dollars, super agent Scott Boras is your man.
So it was not surprising when Cano signed on Scott Boras last season, but the Yankees sure couldn’t of been happy about it.
Boras squeezes every dollar out of a team for his clients, so when Cano dropped him for New York local and rap star mogul Jay Z a month ago everyone felt a sense of relief.
Jay Z is a lifelong Yankees fan and a staple at games.
I was there when he preformed his hit song “Empire State of Mind” before the start to Game 2 of the 2009 World Series, which became the theme song for that championship team.

Brian Cashman has had enough of A-Rod
Baseball world just got a little bit more entertaining this past week when Alex Rodriguez decided to join twitter. That’s good for social media and bad for the New York Yankees. Arod has been quite informative today about his rehab stating:

Somehow, almost a month has passed without us realizing his presence on the site. His handle is appropriately AROD, but that can only lead to the people who hate him modifiying it to AROID or AFRAUD or something along those lines...
Although flattered by rumors that American League manager Jim Leyland wants the reliever to start the July 16 All-Star Game at Citi Field, New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera doesn’t “like” the idea. “I’ve been told about it, but I don’t like it,” said Rivera, 43, who is currently tied with Baltimore’s Jim Johnson and Pittsburgh’s Jason Grilli for the MLB lead...
Contrary to reports swirling around the Internet, New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera would rather not be the starter for this year’s MLB All-Star Game.
When asked why he’d rather not start the game, Rivera said, “And the reason why I say that is it’s not what I do. What I do is close the games, I don’t start the games. It’s a privilege and honor, but I’m not contemplating...
Unfortunately, they'll soon have to drop the zombie nickname, because the World War Z corpses actually show decent speed. You can win the pennant with zombies who climb walls like Ichiro.
From all the Yankees hitting below .200, we wish you many happy days.I know that 83 seems old, but you can still "pick it."All the best. Just don't inhale too aggressively when ready to blow out the candles !We tried to win today for you, but one run was our limit.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Ichiro Suzuki homered off Tanner Scheppers with two outs in the ninth inning, lifting the New York Yankees to a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
Suzuki's drive to right-center was the Yankees' fourth home run of the game, three coming off Japanese ace Yu Darvish, and it helped New York improve to 4-3 on a homestand that ends after two...
When New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano dropped
agent Scott Boras in favor of another group – which included rapper Jay-Z – there
was thought that an agreement on a contract extension would soon follow. However,
this hasn’t been the case, and Jon Heyman of CBS Sports notes that it’s clear the
sides are nowhere near a deal at this point.
