The Yankees snapped their four-game losing streak with tonight’s 3-2 win over the Houston Astros.
The game would remain scoreless through the first three innings but the Yankees got it going in the fourth inning against Astros starter Brett Oberholtzer. After one out, Robinson Cano hit a single to right field. Alfonso Soriano would walk and Mark Reynolds would hit a single to left field. Left fielder Trevor Crowe would field the ball and when he tried to get Cano at home, the throw would be cut off by third baseman Matt Dominguez. The Astros third baseman would still try to get the runner at home but a wild throw would allow Soriano and Reynolds to advance into scoring position. The error helped David Adams, the next batter, bring in two runs with a double off the top of the right field wall, just missing a home run.
