The New York Yankees went into to last night with a one-run lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East.
The Yankees fought hard vs. a more complete Red Sox. And after 12-innings, the Bronx Bombers won, in walk-off fashion, 4-3.
And Yankee fans owe a lot of that win to the moves made by skipper Joe...
"One game at a time." It is a mantra of baseball managers, an approach that enables them to focus on the one thing that they can control -- the game in front of them -- without worrying about other concerns.
"One game at a time." The Yankees' Joe Girardi -- in a decision that was curious at best, dangerous at worst -- used precisely that rationale for extending...
David Cone may have some racial sensitivity classes in his future after a comment he made on Tuesday.
The former Cy Young Award winner and current Yankees TV analyst for YES Network referred to outfielder Ichiro Suzuki’s bat as a “chopstick” on the telecast during the Yankees-Red Sox game.
“Probably a ball, but Suzuki with the chopstick,” Cone said while watching a replay...
Congratulations are in order for the New York Yankees, who officially became AL East DivisionChamps last night.
Yankees Game #162 – 2012 MLB season
The Bronx Bombers finished the 2012 regular season with a 95-67 record, the best in the American League.
It was a magnificent way to finish a season for a Yankees team where injuries and age made everyone else doubt their ability, myself...
Manny Banuelos, considered the New York Yankees' top pitching prospect, is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery Thursday that likely will sideline him for the 2013 season. Dr. James Andrews will perform the procedure in Pensacola, Fla., on the 21-year-old Banuelos, who hasn't pitched since May for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees apparently thought the injury...
While the New York Yankees are on a three-day break before the ALDS this Sunday night at 8:30pm EST, I thought it was the perfect time to reminisce a little

So here it is….

New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was back in the
lineup last night, returning from a calf injury that’s sidelined him for much
of the past month. In his return, Teixeira batted fifth and went 1-3 with a
two-run home run and a walk.
Teixeira initially injured his calf at the end of August.
The strain caused the slugger to miss roughly a week and a half of action...
As Major League Baseball's regular season finally came to an end last night, the New York Yankees grounds crew had a little trouble with a rogue bird back on Tuesday.
During the twelfth inning of New York's extra inning affair against the Boston Red Sox, a rogue bird had made its way onto the field and parked itself near second base.
One of the umpires summoned a Yankees...
The New York Yankees are down to the wire folks, they beat the Boston Red Sox last night in the second inning alone. The Yankees made it look like batting practice as they scored 9 runs in the second inning against the Red Sox, they are hanging onto the A.L. East with a one game lead and you can bet the Red Sox are going to do what they can to try to derail the men in pinstripes...
NEW YORK -- The ball flew off his bat, over the wall in right for a game-tying homer in the ninth, and Raul Ibanez felt everything start to go in slow motion. He would send his New York Yankees into fast-forward three innings later with a walk-off single that led to another wild celebration at Yankee Stadium. Three outs from dropping into a tie for the American League East heading...
Just when you think they're out, they keep reeling you back in. The Red Sox were poised to help the Orioles grab a share of the American League East with one game left to play, but let a win slip through their fingertips. Raul Ibanez homered off Andrew Bailey in the ninth inning and singled home the winning run off Andrew Miller in the 12th, capping off a wild night in the Bronx...

It's a 1-game lead with 2 games to play. The Yankees beat a dead Red Sox team last night while the Orioles lost to a Rays team that was on life support. The big joke about the Boston Red Sox these days is that they are actually the Pawtucket Red Sox. Six players in last night's Boston lineup started 2012 in triple A. Meanwhile, the Yankees had their full lineup in the game...
