Cano shut out by pops, draws jeers from fans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Already with a crowd and perhaps a city against him, Robinson Cano turned to his dad for salvation. It didn't help. After frustrating Royals fans by not picking hometown favorite Billy Butler to participate in Monday's Home Run Derby, the Yankees second baseman and American League Derby captain became the lone contestant not to hit at least one home...

Robinson Cano shut out in Home Run Derby while getting booed by Royals fans

Your browser does not support iframes. Robinson Cano was shut out in the Home Run Derby a year after winning the competition, much to the delight of Royals fans. The fans booed Cano throughout the day and during the competition because he didn’t pick Royals DH Billy Butler to participate after saying he was going to choose a Royals player to be on the AL team. A year after clubbing...

Can Robinson Cano repeat as Home Run Derby Champion?

New York Yankees' second baseman Robinson Cano is the reigning Home Run Derby Champion.  On Monday night he gets his opportunity to be the first back to back winner in Derby history.  Can he out blast names such as Prince, Bautista, Kemp, and Trumbo?  This segment was recorded prior to the announcement that Andrew McCutchen would replace Giancarlo Stanton in the competition...

Royals Fans Show No Class In Appalling Treatment of Robinson Cano

The Home Run Derby is something that baseball fans look forward to at the All-Star break. It is often more exciting than the All-Star Game itself the following night. In fact, I can state that it is, as no Home Run Derby ever ended in a tie and prompted an ignorant commissioner to get involved to shake things up a bit. But that same ignorant commissioner did find the...

Great Photo Moments In Athletes Grinding Girls

Listening to Robinson Cano get booed last night at the home run derby brought back so memories for us and the history of Busted. Think way back to Christmas week 2009. Cano and the Yankees had just come off a World Series title, he batted .320 and finished in the MVP voting. We received an email that week from a woman named Maria. She wanted us to see Robbie bending over a blonde...

Robinson Cano Mocked By The KC Fans

Kansas City Royals Fans Boo Robinson Cano, Yankees Fans Furious; Forget Chase Utley Boos

Your browser does not support iframes.  Kansas City Royals fans provided the highlight of what was otherwise a dull Home Run Derby.   Bitter that Kansas City's hometown hero Billy Butler was left off of the Home Run Derby as captain Robinson Cano picked other players despite Cano stating that he would take a hometown player, they let them have it.    Billy Butler has 16...

Handicapping The 2012 Home Run Derby

The 2012 Home Run Derby has a lot of new faces, but two defending champions are stepping up to the plate for the American League with a great chance of repeating as champs in 2012. Fantasy baseball superstar Matt Kemp will captain the National League team, and 2012 winner Robinson Cano will head up the American League team. Of the eight participants in this year’s competition...

Rant of the day: Poor sports in Kansas City

Hope everyone caught the Home Run Derby last night - congrats to Prince Fielder for winning it for a second time - that dude is a beast! As a sports fan who can't help but become embroiled in bitter sports rivalries (how excited was this fangirl that the New York Yankees took 3 of 4 games from the Red Sox this past weekend??), it's always nice to see, at something like the...

MLB Style Guide: Everything You Should Care About From The 2012 Home Run Derby

The 2012 MLB Home Run Derby took place last night in Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium (the one with the fountains), and if you were like most people you had a passing interest, got bored, then spent a little time on Twitter trying to make Chris Berman’s incessant “BECK BECK BECK BECK BECK” thing funny. You have have compared him to a chicken. It happens. In the event that...
