PLAYERS: CC Sabathia
TEAMS: New York Yankees
The New York Yankees got Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter back over the weekend.  Both players played in their first spring games, and both looked good.  The Yankees are now just waiting on Andy Pettitte and C.C. Sabathia, but they should get Sabathia back on Friday. According to Adam Berry of MLB.com, Sabathia is slated to make his spring training debut on Friday. He reported to camp and immediately had troubles with his elbow.  However, he has reported no problems with the elbow in his last two throwing sessions. "Felt good today, no problems. I felt strong. I'm ready to go," Sabathia said. "I'm working pretty hard and trying to throw all my pitches and make it as game-like as possible. I'm getting good work out of it." Sabathia will be a big part of the Yankees' attempt at overcoming adversity this season.  Or, he can add to it.  If Sabathia struggles with injuries this season, it may be the final nail in New York's coffin.  If he is healthy and thrives, the team may be able to overcome the slew of injuries they've already faced. Sabathia is 191-101 in his career.  He has a 3.50 career ERA.  He's a veteran and an ace, but he will only be productive if his elbow is truly back to 100 percent.  This is why the Yankees have not rushed him back.  They will surely take it easy on him starting Friday when he returns to the mound. Red Sox side with a Yankee, what the heck

Since the announcement that New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera will be walking away from baseball at the end of the 2013 season many (analyst, writers, etc) have been speculating where the long-time closer fits within the greatest players of all-time list.
