Just two days after returning to the Yankees lineup Alex Rodriguez is out again. This time it is a jammed left thumb that he suffered while fielding a ground ball off of Joe Mauer on Sunday, according to Chad Jennings of the Journal News. A-Rod said he hope to only miss one game.
The Associated Press is also reporting out of Tampa, Florida injury updates on Mark Prior, Pedro Feliciano, and Damaso Marte.
Prior has been pitching in the GCL-Rookie league this month while rehabbing from various injuries, but was scratched from a start on Tuesday night after experiencing shoulder discomfort. It was a longshot from the beginning that Prior would ever pitch for the Yankees, but this will likely put the nail in that coffin, a shoulder injury is probably too much to come back from at this point.
