After signing Adam LaRoche, the Washington Nationals have begun to shop outfielder Michael Morse. Reports today have been that five or six teams are interested, one of those teams being the New York Yankees.

If the Yankees were to make a deal for an outfielder, Morse would be the perfect fit. He hits right handed and would be a perfect compliment to the teams all lefty outfield. He’s also got a good power bat that would fit well in Yankees Stadium. Over the past two seasons he’s hit 49 of them.
Most importantly though is Morse has only one year left on his contract. He’s scheduled to make $6.75 million in 2013 and with only one year of control it would assist the team in their goal of reducing payroll for the 2014 season.
