The New York Yankees 2012 playoff run as come to an painful ending getting swept by the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS. Their offseason has just started with talks of Alex Rodriguez possibly being traded to the Marlins, even though both teams have denied the trade talks. A-Rod has to go since his he warn out his welcome in the New York City by not taking the game serious when he was flirting with women and getting himself since he is getting old. He has 5 five year worth 114 million dollars left on his current contract. Thats is going to be hard to get rid of. Other guys I believe that won't be back is Nick Swisher and Russell Martin. They are both free agents this coming offseason. I'm sure Nick Swisher will be looking for a 100 million dollar contract which I don't think any team with give him and I have a gut feeling Russell Martin will be gone as well. We all know Rafael Soriano will opt out of his current contract to become a free agent where he can make more money and be a closer for another team once again in his career. This team needs to add new offensive players  or they won't get past the first round of the playoffs or might not make the playoffs either depending on what they do in the offseason. The free agent market is very weak this coming offseason and who knows what Yankees GM Brian Cashman will do. He needs get this team younger again or they won't be making the world series anytime soon.

Carmelo Anthony understands what it's like to play under the pressures of New York, and he said he feels badly for Alex Rodriguez.

After A Rain-Out: A Recap Of And Thoughts On The Alex Rodriguez Saga

Judging from the way the Yankees have handled him, it is safe to assume that we have seen the last of Alex Rodriguez in the 2012 postseason. It does not even appear that he will pinch hit going forward. How did it come to this? And, why? When Raul Ibanez pinch hit for A-Rod in Game 3 of the ALDS, I understood and applauded Joe Girardi for the move. It took guts to remove a player...

Report: A-Rod went on a date with an Aussie bikini model following Yankees' ALCS Game 1 loss

New York Yankees star benchwarmer Alex Rodriguez reportedly went on a date with model and bikini designer Kyna Treacy right after he flirted with her during last Saturday's playoff game against the Detroit Tigers. The Telegraph reports that Rodriguez called her up after last Saturday’s game. Treacy’s friends say that she and A-Rod went on a date.“I think she was pleasantly...

New York Post Rips Alex Rodriguez, Yankees With 'We Don't Date Losers' Cover (Photos)

As beautiful as Kyna Treacy may be, she still dates losers. Just don't tell the New York Post that. On Friday, the New York Post ripped Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees -- who were swept out of the ALCS on Thursday night by the Detroit Tigers -- by creating a cover that mocks the reported rumor of A-Rod hitting on women during a postseason game earlier this month...

New York Post mocks Yankees, Alex Rodriguez

The New York Yankees were eliminated from postseason play after they were swept away by the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS. Anything that could wrong for the Yanks did go wrong. Lack of hitting, a broken ankle, and scouting for babes rather than playing baseball all contributed to their ultimate demise. And the New York Post added salt to the wound by running this cover on Friday...

No pinch hitter for A-Rod -- he isn't even in Yankees' lineup

Alex Rodriguez's name was not on the New York Yankees' lineup card for Game 4 of the ALCS, and although the game was postponed by rain, the three-time AL MVP is expected to be benched when the Yankees and Tigers resume the series Thursday at Comerica Park. "I'm obviously not doing somersaults," Rodriguez said. "I'm not happy about it. Obviously, you...

A-Rod Saga has Direct Impact on Phillies Future

The Alex Rodriguez saga continues in New York after the Yankees were swept in the ALCS leaving the future in a no win situation for the Bombers. They are not the only team impacted though, the Philadelphia Phillies will also be directly affected by the situation. Benching A-Rod for more than one game has put a strain on his relationship with the team that will not be overcome. The...

Alex Rodriguez Says He'll Be Back With Yankees in 2013 Amid Heavy Speculation About His Future

During this postseason, Alex Rodriguez has almost become a sympathetic figure. Imagine that. That little incident where the third baseman reportedly tried to hit on a woman behind the Yankees' dugout during the game notwithstanding, Rodriguez has seemed to be largely scapegoated by the team for its collective offensive struggles, yet handled it with grace. Amid being pinch hit...

Granderson, Rodriguez on bench for Game 4

Struggling center fielder Curtis Granderson and third baseman Alex Rodriguez were not in the New York Yankees' lineup for Game 4 of the American League Championship Series on Thursday against Detroit. Manager Joe Girardi stuck with the same lineup that he listed before Game 4 was rained out Wednesday night. The Tigers held a 3-0 lead. Brett Gardner replaced Granderson in...

Some Yankees Blame Fans For Awful ALCS

From John Harper: ...while A-Rod blamed two weeks of postseason futility at the plate, saying it “sucked the energy out of us," another player privately made a far more indicting observation: that the ballclub was affected by the hostility from the fans at Yankee Stadium last weekend. “I really think the booing spooked a lot of guys," the player said. “A lot of...

Yankees Want Alex Rodriguez to Focus Less on Being Celebrity, But Hank Steinbrenner Spreads Blame Around

NEW YORK -- Hank Steinbrenner says too much blame is being directed at Alex Rodriguez for Detroit's sweep of the Yankees, and he won't address whether the slumping star will be back in New York next season. "He was just one of quite a few that just had a bad time at the plate," the team's co-chairman said Friday during a phone interview. "...

Schmidt: A-Rod was cursed once he got big contract

(Eds: Adds photos. With AP Photos.) By MIKE SCHMIDT For The Associated Press There was a time when Alex Rodriguez was touted as the guy who could relieve us of Barry Bonds as the home run king. He was young, healthy and an MVP contender every year. If anyone deserved $30 million a year, it was him. That's a stretch - ''deserve'' $30 million a year. Maybe discovering...

"Watching the Yankees Make Outs"

Roger Angell:Here’s what we saw around home plate, starting in late September: Curtis Granderson spins to the right, drops his head, and becomes suddenly smaller as he turns toward the dugout. Nick Swisher makes a little backward lean as an inside fastball goes by, throws up his head as the ump punches him out, then smiles knowingly as he heads back to the bench. Robbie Cano, grounding...
