TEAMS:
New York Yankees
One of the top free agents sure to generate plenty of attention this coming offseason is Kyle Lohse. He pitched outstanding during the regular season finishing with a 16-3 record, 143K, and 2.86 ERA.
Although, Lohse had his worst pitching performance of the season in Game 7 against the San Francisco Giants in the NLCS, he did finish the postseason with a 2-1 record. Lohse, also, demonstrated enough command, composure, and maturity throughout this season to prove that he is capable of being dominant.
He’ll join Zack Greinke, Ryan Dempster, Anibal Sanchez, Edwin Jackson and Shaun Marcum on the free agent market. Names like Jake Peavy and Dan Haren are reportedly likely to hit the market as well after team options on the right-handers are declined.
The New York Yankees will likely pursue Lohse relentlessly hoping to pair him behind CC Sabathia, as a Number 2 or 3 starter for next season. The pressure to perform in New York is enough to break down many pitchers around the MLB, but Lohse has established a reputation of being steady, confident, and I believe fans will appreciate how effectively he mixes his 2-seamball, curve, and slider. When Scott Boras gives Brian Cashman a call, this offseason about Kyle Lohse, he will surely listen, much to the delight of many fans in the Big Apple.

Heyman: Yankees Have No Interest In Giving Swisher Multi-Year Deal
From Jon Heyman:The Yankees are still planning to make a qualifying offer of about $13.5 million to free agent Nick Swisher, but only to protect the draft choice, not with any hope or expectation he'd accept the offer and return to the Bronx.
While Swisher generally had a nice four-year run in the Bronx, the Yankees are ready to move on after a fourth straight postseason of...
Ichiro Suzuki wants to stay with the Yankees
A mid-season trade to the New York Yankees rejuvenated outfielder Ichiro Suzuki. He was one of the few Yankees to be productive during the American League Championship Series, batting .353 including a home run in Game 1.[...]
Should Swisher join Grandyman and get some new Prada frames?
The official Yankiverse rumor line seems to be that Nick Swisher is gone from the Tankees. I'll believe it when I see it. Swish has always been a likeable, bi-polar West Virginia mope who drank the Kool-Aid of Gotham like mother's milk, and set himself up for a post-baseball career as a sitcom walk-on, card show lugnut or ESPN smiling caballero. He won't be happy...
Next year, Grandy's new look could be quite the style-setter
The Yankees are sending Curtis Granderson to get his eyes examined. In some circles, 200 strikeouts are viewed as a sign of blindness. Who knew? Maybe last week, the Grandyman was seeing the 1963 Dodgers pitching staff. It was all a blur to him.So, now he'll go recite an eye chart. This has to be the best Yankee news since Dellin Betances threw a walkless inning in Arizona. ...
Letter to the Editor: "I have always been a Yankees fan..."
The Times of Trenton (New Jersey)October 21, 2012 Sunday Dear Editor:I have always been a Yankees fan. The antics of the owners, the late father, George Steinbrenner, and now his sons, always amazed me with their lack of class. The current A-Rod situation ("A-Rod epoch ending ugly," Oct. 18) is a perfect example. Selecting him as the reason for their current failure...
Reports From Instructs: New York Yankees (Pt 3)
I’ve seen Yankees catching prospect Gary Sanchez as much as any other prospect this season and while I have a good feel for what he can do, I’m still not certain what he’ll become. I saw him in spring training, at Lo-A Charleston, at Hi-A Tampa and again recently in instructs; he’s shown the same tools each time but has also been making some adjustments, mostly at the plate...
Reports From Instructs: New York Yankees (Pt 4)
In the past week I’ve seen some amateur events (UF Scout Day, Florida Diamond Club) that I’ll write about here and I’ll be covering the WWBA tournament in Jupiter for ESPN. I also still have lots of instructs reports and extra regular season minor league reports to offload. So, before I move on to all these new topics, here’s the final notes from Yankees instructs, starting...

The A-Rod Saga
Let me start by saying, because I don’t think I can really stress this enough, that I really, utterly, totally, absolutely, genuinely, without equivocation, loathe Alex Rodriguez. This is very important knowledge for you, the reader, to have in your head before you read further, because there will be moments whilst you read the rest of this, that you will think I am defending Alex...
New York Yankees’ CC Sabathia to See Dr. James Andrews About Bone Spur in Elbow
After being swept by the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS, the New York Yankees are now receiving more bad news, as ace CC Sabathia is being sent to have his pitching elbow examined by Dr. James Andrews. The injury is believed to be a bone spur, but Sabathia admits that he is concerned about the possibility [...]
