How about a discount? That's what the Yankees are hoping when they open contract negotiations with Mariano Rivera. Rivera, 43, made $15 million last season while appearing in only nine games before injuring his knee. According to CBSSports.com, the Yankees are likely to offer Rivera a $10 million contract, $5 million less than last season. However, the team could include incentives that could push it closer to last season's salary. One year contract at $10 million, plus $500k for every 10 saves. Sounds good to me.
