The New York Yankees have signed second baseman Preston Mattingly to a minor-league contract.Mattingly, the son of former Yankees first baseman and current Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, batted .232 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 164 at-bats in High-A last season.A former first-round pick, Mattingly has yet to appear in a major-league game.The 24-year-old has a career .236 batting average over parts of six seasons in the minors.
