The New York Yankees have added some veteran relief depth, signing Japanese leftthander Hideki Okajima to a minor-league contract.The deal includes an invitation to spring training.The 36-year-old Okajima appeared in seven games with the Boston Red Sox last season, recording a 4.32 ERA over 8 1/3 innings.Okajima spent his first five major-league seasons in the Boston organization. His best season came in 2007 when, as a 32-year-old rookie, he posted a 2.22 ERA and 63 strikeouts over 69 innings.
