The New York Yankees have won seven straight, 10 of 12 and have finally reached the .500 mark at 31-31.
With exactly 100 games to go, the Yankees seem to have righted the ship and are pointed in the right direction.
Yet the Yankees still face a very daunting task if they are to continue their streak of making the playoffs every season in the post-strike era, which means 12 straight seasons.

Daunting may be an understatement. They have a long way to go.

Their starting pitching staff is older than my whole slow pitch softball team combined.......good luck Yanks.

They don't have to win the division, just make the playoffs. They've proven the last few years that they're a better second half team than first so I'm not all that worried.

I love the Yanks and I want to see them make it, too. I was just pointing out that, based on the historical analysis, they basically have to be the best team in baseball the rest of the way.
