Yankees 4; Red Sox 3 The Boston Red Sox are a coming; actually the team probably arrived last night but you get the point. As the New York Yankees will host their heated rivals for a four game set up in the Bronx starting tonight. Last time these two teams met up in Boston, things got heated up thanks to Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster who threw four pitches with the intention of hitting Yankees Alex Rodriguez. Eventually, Dempster did peg A-Rod in the side on his fourth attempt. Dempster not only put a runner on first base intentionally, he also awoke a sleeping dog in the Yankees who went on to knock 17 hits and winning that night 9-6. Regrettably since Dempster pitched last night, he will not take the bump in the Bronx this weekend to the thorough disappointment of Yankees fans everywhere. Skipper Joe Girardi does not think his Yankees will retaliate due to the significance of these games, as he made clear last night. (more…) © Kate for Lady Loves Pinstripes, 2013. | Permalink | N...

Ryan Dempster Praises Teammates in Second Straight Win, Had Fun Watching ‘Guys Unload’ During Offensive Explosion (Video)

Ryan Dempster stepped off the mound in the 6th inning holding a one-run lead over the Tigers. His night was over, but his teammates wanted to ensure the right-hander earned his second-straight win, and his eighth on the season when they exploded for eight runs in the  bottom of the sixth. The bats came alive — and then some — for Boston on Wednesday night, and Dempster had fun...

Larry Lucchino Hopes Red Sox, Yankees Put Ryan Dempster-Alex Rodriguez Incident in Rearview Mirror

There’s less than a month remaining in the regular season, which means that the Red Sox and Yankees are likely more concerned about stringing together wins than they are about last month’s fireworks at Fenway Park. If not, Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino is ready to engage. “If it starts up, I’m going to look for [Yankees president] Randy Levine,” Lucchino joked...

MLB sends 'heads-up' for Red Sox-Yankees rematch

Major League Baseball has sent a ''heads-up'' notice to the umpires working the series between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, reminding the crew that the teams had a dustup the last time they played. The Red Sox visited Yankee Stadium on Thursday night in their first game since Boston's Ryan Dempster hit Alex Rodriguez with a pitch on Aug. 18. That...

Red Sox-Yankees Preview

One thing is certain since Ryan Dempster drilled Alex Rodriguez last month - the New York Yankees are slowly but surely climbing into playoff contention. The Yankees and visiting Boston Red Sox meet Thursday night for the first time since that incident, which may have boosted New York in its playoff push. There always seems to be an added level of intrigue when these arch-rivals...

REPORT: Hearing date for Alex Rodriguez Biogenesis scandal is set

Credit: AP While all of the players implicated in the Biogenesis Performance-Enhancing Drug (PED) scandal other than Alex Rodriguez have accepted their penalties and are currently sitting out the pennant run, the New York Yankees 3B/DH deemed his 211 game suspension excessive and seemingly vowed to fight to the end with his appeal.  Well, the end might be coming.  According to...

Alex Rodriguez Takes Quick Glamour Shot After Terrible Slide Into Second Base

It is not that often that someone can turn a belly flop travesty of a slide into a modeling moment, but Alex Rodriguez has accomplished the feat. Check out Alex having some issues with his landing gear while heading into second and then seemingly try to make up for it with a glamour shot. [CUT 4] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

One-Third Of Remaining Sox Games With NYY

After tonight's rubber match with the Tigers, Boston will have 21 games left in their 2013 season. Seven of those games (or exactly 33.3%) will be against The Bronx Embalmers. Keep in mind that if the Red Sox lose tonight and the Yankees win, they will trail Boston by—you guessed it—seven games. Which is why it will be important to disabuse The Pinstriped Posers of any notion...

Alex Rodriguez Strikes Modeling Pose After Tripping Over Own Feet, Belly-Flopping Into Second Base (Video)

It’s just too easy to pick on Alex Rodriguez sometimes. It’s even easier when he tries to get in on the joke and instead makes himself even more laughable. The latest incident came Thursday night, when Rodriguez got a hold of a Jake Peavy pitch midway through the Yankees’ 9-8 loss to the Red Sox and carved a double into the right-center gap. When Rodriguez made his turn to...

Clay Buchholz’s Return May Mean Trip to Bullpen for Felix Doubront or Ryan Dempster

The cavalry is coming, and it’s just in time for the stretch run. For the Red Sox, that simply means Clay Buchholz is on his way back. The right-hander continues his rehab assignments, and it’s believed he could return as early as next week in Tampa Bay. There’s no understating how important Buchholz could be, especially if he returns to anything close to what he was before...

Recap: Middlebrooks' Slam, Papi's 2,000th Hit Rout Tigers 20-4

Two mediocre pitchers faced off in Rick Porcello and Ryan Dempster in the series finale vesus the Tigers. You know what that means? Home run deby. If you had tickets in right field, you picked a great night for a lot of action. Not only were there multiple bombs to right field, but Shane Victorino went falling into the stands to make a catch. Nothing Jeter-esque, but still not bad...

Not In the Face, Ivan! Not In the Face!

With the start of a four game set in Happytown, the Sox have a chance to put a sizable hurtin’ on the Yankees. Every win will beef up the already imposing 8 game lead the Sox currently enjoy. Dare I suggest that a sweep would pretty much eliminate any Yankee post-season aspirations. On the heels of that insane pasting of the Tigers last night, I’ve got to hope the boys have fine...

Yanks hold on, give White Sox the sweep treatment, 6-5

The last time the Yankees and Red Sox tangled tempers erupted Alex Rodriguez got plunked and then hit a dramatic home run and the Yanks iced one of their best wins of the season. Now the bitter rivals tangle again in a four-game series beginning Thursday in the Bronx that should have implications in the American League wild-card chase and perhaps the AL East race. What do the teams...

Red Sox-Tigers Live: Ryan Dempster, Rick Porcello to Battle in Series Finale at Fenway

5:23 p.m.: Jacoby Ellsbury will return to the Red Sox’ lineup Wednesday. Ellsbury was out of the lineup Tuesday, as he’s dealing with a hand issue. John Farrell said before Wednesday’s game that Ellsbury isn’t completely over the ailment, but it’s something that the outfielder will continue to manage. Jarrod Saltalamacchia will not be in the Red Sox’ lineup Wednesday...

Is Peyton Manning football’s answer to ******** Tits’ Alex Rodriguez?

In a historic outing, future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning dissected the Baltimore Ravens in the Broncos’ 49-27 victory Thursday night at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Completing 26-of-41 passes for 452 yards and an astounding seven touchdowns, the 37-year-old Manning looked more dominant than ever. After missing the entire 2011 campaign to recover from an...
