The 2013 New York Yankees are about to slam the door on the season. Photo by The Silent Wind of Doom 18 Apr 2009 (UTC) (Photo credit: Wikipedia) After getting swept by the below .500 Chicago White Sox, the Yankees are barely hanging on to fourth place in the AL East, and are 11.5 games behind the first place Red Sox. Since returning from the All-Star Break on July 19th, which informally marks baseball’s mid-season point, the Yankees have been horrendous. Heading into the second half, the Yankees were six games back in the division, and just 3.5 games out of the AL Wild Card race. Less than a month later, the Yankees are 57-56, just one loss away from being a .500 team. POLL: Is The Season Over For The New York Yankees?

The Incineration is complete.I'm calling it an incineration because it happened in Chicago. Chicago Fire. Get it? Anyway...To me, last night's series finale was a defining moment. The definition: The season is over. The loss felt THAT devastating.Am I alone here? Does anyone else believe that The Incineration ended the 2013 Yankee season? Let me know what you think. Vote...

A-Rod receives mixed reaction from fans in return to Yankee Stadium (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez played in Yankee Stadium Friday night for the first time this season and received an understandably mixed reaction from the fans. As A-Rod came to the plate, there was about a 50-50 split between fans cheering and booing. However, after A-Rod struck out in his first at-bat, he was nearly...

Yankees game 114 lineup: 8/9/13

The last time Alex Rodriguez set foot in Yankee Stadium against the Tigers, he was benched in favor of Eric Chavez. Now, he returns nearly a year later – back at third base. It seems as if it’s now or never for the Yankees, who are just one game above .500 coming into tonight’s game. Ivan Nova looks to continue his recent success, facing off against New Jersey native Rick Porcello...

The good, the bad and the ugly in A-Rod’s return to the New York Yankees

Amid the tumult and turmoil of the Biogenesis investigation, Alex Rodriguez insisted he just wanted to get back on the field. The baseball diamond has always been a sanctuary for the troublemaking slugger, a place where he can perform without acting, and act without trying to perform. He has taken his show to many theatres, but the ball field seems to be the one life arena in which...

Yankees: A suggestions box

The New York Yankees are in trouble, like the real kind. New York Yankees (Photo credit: Keith Allison)  I realize that fans have lived under the illusion that this is the Yankees and they will figure out a way to make the postseason. One fan said to me, “No October baseball in the Bronx that is like cheating baseball and sports in general. You don’t know anything.” Well,...

Boo-birds will be out at Yankee Stadium as A-Rod puts the pinstripes back on

He has next to nothing to do with the Yankees’ season being finished by the first week of August. In fact after missing four months recovering from hip surgery and morphing into the face of the Biogenesis scandal he has looked better than expected. Yet tonight at Yankee Stadium a frustrated Yankees fan base likely will greet Alex Rodriguez who makes his Bronx season debut with...

A-Rod returns to Bronx boobirds

Alex Rodriguez got booed in pregame introductions, booed when his picture was put up on the video board and booed again when came to bat in the first inning. And when he struck out? Booed even more. Loudly, too. Same thing when he fanned the next time up. The crowd at Yankee Stadium had its say Friday night when Rodriguez played at home for the first time since last October. While...

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will make his 2013 Yankee Stadium debut Friday night, and he says he couldn't be more excited.

Did Chicago Fans Cheer When Alex Rodriguez Was Hit By a Pitch?

For obvious reason, in the baseball loving world new York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is public enemy No. 1. In his first at-bat Monday night against the White Sox he was booed pretty heavily, and here it looks/sounds like some fans may have cheered when he was hit by a pitch. Of course we can't know for sure. They could be reacting to something on the Jumbotron,...

The A-Rod Anti-Highlight Reel has derps, ‘You’re the Best Around’ soundtrack (video)

The litany of derps perpetrated by Alex Rodriguez have been frequently discussed and well-documented. But how about if someone pieced together a majority of A-Rod’s missteps, mistakes and misdeeds and compiled it into one awkwardly embarrassing video? That’s derpness gold, kiddos. Created by Joe Perry of VKMTV Productions, this delightful bit of video is great […]The post The...
