NEW YORK—The new stadium needed one more walk-off, it seems. Juan Miranda hit a walk-off single in the ninth inning Tuesday, his team’s 15th walk-off hit in its 80th home game, sending the Yankees to a 4-3 win over the Royals. Down to their final two outs in the ninth, the Yankees received consecutive singles from Francisco Cervelli and Eric Hinske, before Robinson Cano tied the game with a sacrifice fly to deep center. After Hinske stole second base and advanced to third on an error, Royals pitcher Kyle Farnsworth intentionally walked Johnny Damon. It was then that Miranda grounded a ball that deflected off Farnsworth and shot toward the first-base foul line. By the time anyone could retrieve it, Hinske had already crossed home.
