The Yankees had already avoided arbitration with righthander Phil Hughes, agreeing on Monday to a one-year, $3.2 million deal. The team’s other arbitration-eligible players, catcher Russell Martin, outfielder Brett Gardner and lefthander Boone Logan, await resolution.

There has been a delay in finalizing last week's blockbuster trade between the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners because Jesus Montero has had difficulty leaving his native Venezuela to undergo the required physical exam, a major-league source told FOXSports.com.

After the Yankees traded DH Jesus Montero to the Mariners it slightly, just barely, opened the door for Jorge Posada to un-retire and return as part of a DH platoon next season. However, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network, Posada will go ahead with his retirement as planned.
Not a big shock, but based on Posada’s will and determination this did need to be confirmed...

I don’t think this should come as a surprise to anyone. Tebow earned the right to be named the starter going into camp next year. The question is; how long is that going to last? Let’s just hope next year it’s not Tebow-mania again. I can’t deal with that.
